Delve into the Viking life with new Institute of Science lecture

Get an in-depth look at the history of European Vikings when Cranbrook Institute of Science welcomes Danish-born archaeologist and University of Edinburgh lecturer Kristian L.R. Pedersen for "Changing the Face of History: New Finds from the Age of the Vikings in Europe" on February 6 at 7pm.

Part of the Institute's Lecture Series (and Pedersen's only scheduled U.S. lecture this year), this is a "don't miss" opportunity to hear from a noted international archaeologist currently working on Viking Age sites in the British Isles. During the evening, participants will learn about new finds that have altered how scientists and historians interpret Viking activities and lifestyles from more than 1,000 years ago.

The Institute's Lecture Series is designed to make the latest in scientific research available to adults. Held on Friday evenings, the lecture series includes admission to the Institute of Science. Tickets for each lecture are $8 for members and $10 for non-members. For more information, call 248-645-3210 or click here.
